In my lessons you can speak, make mistakes, ask questions and make mistakes again. No pressure and no fear of sounding "wrong". I take care of correcting you and explaining what you need, so you can think less and speak more.

My speciality is making complicated Spanish simple. I use colors, visual explanations, examples and materials I make myself, so you really understand it and can use it when you speak.

A taste of how I explain
Instead of a wall of rules, I color-code what changes. Here is the verb hablar ("to speak") in the present tense: the part that stays is dark, the part that changes is highlighted.

One idea per color. Once you see the pattern, you can apply it to hundreds of verbs, and you stop memorizing lists.

Hi, I'm Maria
I'm a native Spanish teacher from Asturias, in the north of Spain.
I have lived in Germany, the Netherlands, Australia and the United States, so I know exactly what it feels like to learn another language and go blank right when it's time to speak.
I have taught more than 1,700 lessons to students from all over the world. My classes are relaxed, practical and adapted to you. I want Spanish to be something you use, not something you simply study.
I also have a degree in Business Administration and years of experience in multinational companies, so I can help you with professional and business Spanish too.
Outside class, I love travelling in my camper van, the sea, surfing and meeting people from different places.

Der Unterricht mit Maria macht wirklich sehr viel Spaß. Sie ist einerseits professionell, andererseits hatte ich direkt eine tolle Bindung zu ihr, sodass wir uns in unseren „Konversationsklassen“ über alles mögliche in lockerer Atmosphäre unterhalten können uns sie auch direkt auf Fragen eingeht und sie eingehend beantwortet.
